Geographic Area of Coverage
International health insurance plans will typically allow you to select the area in which your plan will afford you coverage. There are usually only two choices in this regard;
- Worldwide coverage
- Worldwide coverage excluding North America.
Choosing a plan with worldwide coverage will allow you to seek treatment with the doctor or hospital of your choice anywhere in the world. As such, the premiums associated with worldwide coverage will often be higher than those of a plan that excludes coverage in North America.
If you elect to obtain a plan that excludes coverage in North America you will not be able to receive scheduled treatment on the continent. In the majority of cases, however, the policy will provide you with coverage for emergency situations should anything untoward occur while you are in North America.
Worldwide Health Options will help you to identify the geographic area of coverage that is most appropriate to your situation. For more information about where an expatriate health insurance plan will cover you, please contact us today.
